Answer : There are 2 ways to become a professional member of the American Institute of Architects. You can either meet educational requirements, or show evidence of 3-5 years experience in architecture. The minimum requirements for third year standing at an approved college or university is 5 course (10 credits).
For those who have over 5 years' experience as an interior designer they need to submit a portfolio and resume with evidence of competency and establish their credibility by providing examples of relevant work experience. They must also undergo principles in Interior Design state registration examination OR provide professional assessment through NICET certification at Level III or IV test scores.
